Kakadu NP is Australia’s largest national park and an international icon. Kakadu is World Heritage-listed for both cultural and natural significance; few places in the world boast such accolades.

Kakadu is bordered by sheer sandstone escarpments of the Arnhem Land Plateau to the east and south. Many waterfalls cascade over this ancient rock; flow down through gorges and rainforests; then out across vast floodplains and into the Timor Sea. Jim Jim and Twin Falls (seasonal) are two of the most amazing falls to visit; and there are many other waterfalls and rock pools accessible for a refreshing swim.

Kakadu NP is home to about 500 Aboriginal people, the Traditional Owners, whose ancestors have inhabited this area for thousands of years. There are over 5,000 recorded Aboriginal rock art sites and Kakadu is arguably the best place in the world to see this ancient tradition and learn about their Dreamtime stories.

Kakadu has an abundance of wildlife, and Yellow Water Billabong is one of the best locations to see some of the 200-odd bird species. Relax onboard a wetlands wildlife boat cruise and keep an eye out for a big Saltie – Estuarine Crocodile.

Kakadu is truly remarkable and not to be missed when you come to the Top End!
