Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge is a series of 13 stunning gorges with high sandstone cliffs carved by the mighty Katherine River. It is called Nitmiluk by the Jawoyn people, the traditional owners; and Nitmiluk is one of the area’s dreamtime stories.
Relax on a boat cruise or paddle a canoe to explore some of the gorges and marvel at the sheer sandstone cliffs and pristine waters. The gorges have an abundance of wildlife and spectacular waterfalls for swimming (seasonal).
Edith Falls (Leliyn) has a large rock pool for swimming (seasonal) and there are some lovely walks along the Edith River and a series of cascading rock pools.
