Crocodiles, Crocodiles and more Crocodiles. The Top End is also home to over 200 bird species, over 120 reptile species, many fury mammals and the tropical waters are home to an abundance of marine life. You could spend weeks in our national parks and not see any of these, so we would recommend a visit to the Territory Wildlife Park.

Territory Wildlife Park

The TWP is about 50km from Darwin City set amongst the natural savannah country of the Top End. You can see the Top End’s wildlife in their natural environment as you wonder through the nocturnal house for shy animals; an aquarium can view the complex river/wetlands systems to view marine life; a monsoon rainforest walk and the highlight being the bird of prey show; amongst many other attractions – great for the whole family.

A couple of tour operators provide transport to; and tours of the Territory Wildlife Park.

Witness turtles coming ashore to lay eggs and late in the season you can see hatchings make their break from the nest and head down the beach for the ocean. You’ll see an amazing sunset over the ocean and experience raw pristine nature. Memories last a lifetime.

These ½ day tours are extremely popular and they operate in the morning or afternoon.

Or another option is to enjoy a Jumping Crocodile Cruise, on the Adelaide River as part of a full day tour to Litchfield NP. Several tour operators offer full day tours that include the jumping crocodile boat cruise in the morning on their way to Litchfield NP.

One operator offers a full day tour including boat cruise on the Adelaide River wetlands. Leaving Darwin you travel 70kms to visit Fogg Dam & the Window on the Wetlands Centre. Joining a 14 seat boat, you spend the rest of the day on the wetlands spotting crocodiles, buffalo, Jabiru, sea eagles and an abundance of other wildlife. Learn the history of the region, enjoy a relaxing bbq and beer on Goat Island, throw a line in for a short time and try to catch the famous barramundi – all this and away from the crowds.

Our clients commonly state… “…this is the best experience in the Top End – highly recommended.”, and we would agree, Territory hospitality at its best. *Recommended
